Why I Don't Photoshop You Into Someone Else

One of the questions I get asked the most is, "Do you Photoshop your images?"

The short answer?

Yes.

But probably not in the way you're thinking.

Every image you receive is professionally edited. I'll adjust lighting, color, and all of the little details that make your photos feel polished and timeless. If you woke up with a random blemish or have a bruise from walking into the corner of your bed for the hundredth time (because let's be honest... we've all done it), I'll take care of those things too.

But here's what I won't do.

I won't make you ten sizes smaller.

I won't change the shape of your body.

I won't give you a completely different face.

And I won't edit you so much that you don't recognize the woman looking back at you.

Because that's not what this experience is about.

When you see your gallery, I don't want your first thought to be, "Wow... look what Photoshop can do."

I want your first thought to be, "I can't believe that's really me."

There's a huge difference.

The goal has never been perfection.

The goal has always been to show you how beautiful you already are.

Yes, I'll smooth out a temporary blemish. I'll remove that random bruise you have no idea how you got, or the scratch your puppy left on your leg yesterday. Those things aren't part of who you are.

But the freckles across your nose?

The tiny scar you've had since you were a kid?

The curve of your body that tells the story of motherhood?

Those things make you... you.

And I don't believe they need to be erased.

I've had women apologize to me before their session.

"I'm sorry about my stretch marks."

"I'm sorry about my stomach."

"I'm sorry I didn't lose the weight first."

Can I tell you something?

You never have to apologize to me for your body.

Not once.

Not ever.

The woman walking into my studio deserves to be celebrated exactly as she is today, not twenty pounds from now, not after another workout program, and not after she decides she's finally "good enough."

Because if you spend your whole life waiting until you're perfect, you'll miss every chance to celebrate yourself along the way.

I want you to look at your photos years from now and remember how you felt.

Confident.

Strong.

Beautiful.

Not because someone edited you into a completely different person...

But because you finally got to see yourself the way the people who love you have seen you all along.
